Did you join the chorus today as it was relayed around the globe? “Christ is Risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!!” The liturgy will echo this refrain for the next 7 weeks as we amplify, intensify, and magnify the news of Christ’s resurrection. While the other major feasts of the liturgical calendar use the 40-day structure which reminds us of Christ’s 40-day fast, and Israel’s 40 years of wandering, Easter’s celebration amplifies the rejoicing to an abundant 50 days (perfection times perfection plus one: 7X7+1).
