In the days following Pentecost, I offer you music about fire. I am reminded by these wonderful works to be intentional about giving the fire inside the oxygen that he needs to flourish.

Igor Stravinsky
Valery Gergiev, Vienna Philharmonic
(You might be distracted by the video, but the performance is one of the best. Some people find Gergiev’s facial expressions distracting. I find it fascinating and inspiring – with his hands, face, and body, he holds rapt attention over 100 musicians in one of the best orchestras in the world, in a performance of one of the most intricate and challenging pieces in the orchestral repertoire!)
J.S. Bach
Cantata for Pentecost Sunday, BWV 74

Whoa – The Firebird Suite! Now that IS flaming fire. Love your choices, Colleen!
