Down in a lowly manger
Our humble Christ was born
And God send us salvation
That blessed Christmas morn
Go tell it on the mountain, over the hills and everywhere, that Jesus Christ is born!
And so, we come to the day of celebration. Our waiting is over. The longing that we have endured through Advent ends with the joyful announcement. “..Good news of great joy for all the people. To you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This spiritual echoes the advent 4 spiritual: rise up/follow has become go/tell! Take the energy of these days of wonder and joy and share good news moment by moment. This blessed Christmas morning we have the best news and it needs to be shared.

Here are also some selections just for the fourth Sunday in Advent! Enjoy!
Advent 4 – Rise Up Shepherd!
In an unusual confluence, the fourth Sunday of Advent, this year, falls on Christmas Eve. The final spiritual of our advent journey is a call to the shepherds: rise up! The star in the east is beaconing. In Bethlehem, a baby awaits: a miracle, a promise. The shepherds respond to the call. They leave their sheep and follow the star. The lyrics say that the wonder of what they will see in the cradle will make them forget their flocks. They rise up, find the baby, and follow. Christmas Eve, and as it was for the shepherds so it is for each of us: a new journey has begun.
ST#143 – Advent 4 “Rise Up Shepherd”
This week’s bonus music is a 2011 recording by Chicago Metro Presbytery Music, called Proclaim the Bridegroom Near.
